This padded jacket’s technical features make it compact and slim-fitting, thereby saving weight on trails. Our sustainable development commitment: 70% of its fill is made from recycled polyester
Hike comfortably in cold weather (down to 23Β°F when active) with this padded jacket with hood that offers a combination of warmth, low weight, and durability.
Functions
– Inside flap under the zipper that protects from the wind.
– Elasticated cuffs
– Flap at the top of the collar to protect the chin.
– Tightening with an elastic cord and toggle at the hem.
– Hood with elasticated bias binding
Thermal insulation – warmth
This padded jacket has been certified for a comfort temperature of 23Β°F during a standardized test in a thermal chamber.
The model wears a synthetic long sleeve T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind.
In our heat comparison tool, it represents 2 stars.
Technical information on the fill
We use 100% polyester fill (70% recycled) weighing 4.4 oz/mΒ² in the body and 3.5 oz/mΒ² in the sleeves and hood.
The fill is made from silicone-coated spiral fibers that make it highly compressible and highly durable.
Despite its low thickness, the air trapped inside provides high insulation properties while allowing it to remain lightweight.
It retains its warmth even when wet.
Durable materials
This polyamide fabric that uses 20 denier thread can withstand 20,000 abrasion cycles.
Martindale test, 12947-2 standard
Outer: 100% polyamide fabric 1.4 oz/mΒ², 20 denier
Lining: 100% polyester fabric 1.2 oz/mΒ², mix of 15 to 20 denier threads
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
A fabric is water-repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in.
This prevents the fabric from swelling and keeps it lightweight and warm.
The water-repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior.
This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment’s lifespan (recommended after each wash).
Products are available for this purpose in our stores
How to restore water-repellent properties
The water-repellent treatment becomes less effective with time, washing, and use.
Here is how to restore the water-repellent properties of your padded jacket!

What is a PFC-free water-repellent treatment?
Our water-repellent treatment contains no PFCs (perfluorocarbons), i.e. PFC-free.
PFCs are used to make fabric water-repellent; however, they are toxic to the environment and people. By substituting PFCs with other technologies giving the same level of performance, we are reducing the environmental impact.
Do you know why the inner lining of your padded jacket is gray?
Because the fabric we use reduces CO2 emissions by 40%.
The fabric of this lining is innovative because it mixes a dope-dyed black yarn and an undyed yarn.
Compared to a classic dyeing process, this process reduces by:
β’ 66% fine particle emissions (PM2.5)
β’ 74% Eutrophication of fresh water
β’ 68% eutrophication of sea water
Our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint
On the black Trek 100 model, the outer fabric uses a clean dyeing process known as dope dyeing (the thread is dyed in bulk). This reduces carbon emissions by 36%.

Valuable advice for improving the durability of your down jacket!
In general, do not wash a down jacket too frequently because each wash decreases its thermal properties.
How to repair your padded jacket if it has a tear
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when backpacking, and the good news is it can be repaired! You can either mend it or apply a heat-bonded patch so that the tear doesn’t get any bigger and the synthetic fibers escape.
Don’t feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don’t worry! Our in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service for your padded jackets.
Determining the environmental impact of our products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated based on its entire lifecycle and using different indicators. A general score from A to E is provided to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc).
Decathlon is committed to displaying this environmental information.
